Recycling is something everyone should be doing in today’s world. When it comes to plastic water bottles, there is obviously a huge issue that needs to be addressed. If you are someone who uses bottled water often, you most likely have already purchased a reusable water bottle or are looking into as we speak. There are many styles to choose from in all shapes and sizes. Generally the more popular types have been the large mouth bottles that are very durable and great for everyday use. The main problem those pose is they aren’t very portable. For those who travel it can become an issue that drives you right back to buying bottled water when you are on the go.

With a Collapsible Water Bottle, you no longer need to worry about toting around your bulky big reusable water bottle, you can now have one that is easily rolled up and put away when not in use! They are much less of a hassle to carry around even when filled with water thanks to their form fitting style; you can easily put them into a pocket or a pouch. These space savers are not only light weight and travel ready, but are made from great material that is without BPA and highly durable.

If concerned about whether or not your water bottle will eventually get an impure taste to the water, fear not, the same technology in the leading hard plastic reusable water bottles is still true with a quality collapsible water bottle. If you are buying cheap, then you get what you paid for. But most quality collapsible water bottles are a fair price. Going cheap on reusable water bottles won’t save you much money and you will probably be throwing it away in a few months anyway.

What you can expect from a Collapsible Water Bottle

Easy to Travel with
Whether you’re hiking every weekend or your work requires you to be on the move a lot. These are perfect for anyone who needs to have as little bulk as possible. When not in use these can be rolled up and put away into the smallest storage space. When these are filled up they can still be placed into a pocket or a small pouch, not weighing you down or taking up precious space when you need to travel light.

Light Weight and Collapsible doesn’t mean less Durability or Quality!
Go to work or school knowing that you don’t have to worry about it breaking or splitting thanks to its durable thick and non BPA plastic! Its form fitting space makes it great for a small pack. The less filled the bottle is the less space it takes, can’t say the same about a hard cased water bottle!

Your fresh water stays FRESH!
It wouldn’t be worth buying if the taste became undrinkable. Thanks to engineered technology, the plastic will not hold an odor from any of the drinking water. Clean it out and easily go on without any lingering tastes or smells.

Our Recommendations Below!

Platy Soft Bottle 1L with Closure Cap, Gray

Flexible, durable, and green! They come with a clean taste guarantee, and each are made without any BPA. The reusability of these bottles will save you tons of money over buying bottled water. In the process, you will be helping the environment by not polluting it! What’s better than saving money and being greener in the process? You have no excuse in the end.

Reliance Products 5 Gallon Poly-Bagged Fold-A-Carrier Collapsible Water Carrier

Perhaps you not only need a water bottle, but a large 5 gallon collapsible container too!? Why not! This 20 liter Fold-able water container is one of the finest collapsible containers available. Made of a high grade BPA free material, it remains flexible even in extreme cold. It uses a spigot design with easy pout and leak proof technology.

Platypus Platy Preserve Wine Preserver

All this talk of water, what about something else! This is a great way to preserve wine from an open bottle. It uses the same tech as any other collapsible water bottle, and works just as well with your wine. Protect the taste of your wine and save some for later in this easily stored container.

Stainless Steel Water Bottle

As more and more people turn to bottled waters, thinking that it is the safest and healthiest drink for them, take a look at what damage bottled water has done to the environment. Every year, 38 billion water bottles are dumped in the landfills and it takes 1,000 years for them to decompose. Lay those out end to end and you can circle the globe 150 times with these many bottles. Aside from getting dumped into the landfills, the plastic bottles are thrown into the ocean which eventually drifts to garbage patches. Plastic bottles are one of the major components of the biggest garbage patch that is floating in the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and San Francisco which is estimated to be the size of Texas.

Each bottle requires a quarter bottle of virgin petroleum to manufacture which will total to 17 million barrels of oil each year. If used as fuel for cars, this amount of oil would have been enough to power 1 million cars for a year. Each bottled water requires 3 to 5 bottles of raw water to produce but interestingly enough, about a quarter of the bottled water sold in the market come from municipal or tap water that has just been treated using reverse osmosis, deionization and others. What is worse is that producing 30 billion liters of bottled water generated 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide in 2006 and this figure is expected to rise to 3.7 million tons of carbon dioxide by 2011.

The bottled water has a bigger impact on the environment than it does on the health of the people. A lot of natural resources are wasted but a lot of toxins and pollutants are also contributed to our environment. Bottled water that is handled improperly and exposed to heat can produce toxic and carcinogenic substances like BPA or Bisphenol A that is leached out into the water from the plastic bottle.

Although drinking clean water may be very essential to our good health, there are better options than drinking bottled water. You can use refillable aluminum water bottles but these require plastic liners which make the water taste funny and might still possibly have a reaction.

One of the best and most practical water containers that you can use for your drinking water is a stainless steel bottle. These bottles are designed to last a lifetime given the proper care. They are fairly easy to clean up, being dishwasher safe. Stainless steel drinking bottles need not only be used for water but can also be used for other beverages like hot drinks because these bottles do not melt nor deform. Stainless steel is impermeable so it will not retain any odor or flavor from anything that you put inside the bottle for as long as you have washed it thoroughly. What’s more, the steel that is used for making these bottles are safe and do not leach out toxic substances even if the bottles are exposed to heat. These refillable stainless steel water bottles will help reduce the garbage from plastic bottles both in the landfills and in the oceans. Just the simple decision of boycotting plastic water bottles and using stainless steel bottles is already your big contribution to the environment.

Choosing A Steel Thermos Bottle Or A Filtered Water Bottle

When you are looking for the best way to carry water and other beverages to work, the gym, while playing sports or anywhere outside your home, the safest and most environmentally responsible way is by using a stainless steel bottle. There are many choices among stainless steel bottles and two of the most practical are a steel thermos bottle and a filtered water bottle. The thermos bottle is a stainless steel insulated bottle which keeps its contents either hot or cold for several hours. Steel thermos bottles are economical and very convenient to take along. Instead of buying coffee at the local convenience store on the way to work, you can make your own, saving money and having your coffee stay hot during the commute.

A filtered water bottle can enables you to use your tap water and take it on the road. The filter bottle purifies the water as you drink so you can make sure that you get clean drinking water every time and a filter bottle is especially useful for a camper or traveler. People spend hundreds of dollars a year on bottled water, thinking that it is pure, but studies have shown that much of this water is ordinary tap water or water that is no better than your tap water. So, instead of wasting money on bottled water, you can have pure water using a filter water bottle.

Both steel thermos bottles and filtered water bottles are easy to clean, durable and should last for a long time. If you buy good bottles made from high quality stainless steel, you do not have to be concerned about chemicals leaching into the contents as you do with plastic bottles. You can find a wide selection of these bottles at reasonable prices at an online merchant who specializes in these products.

The modern world is a fast pace rat race that seems to never sleep or even slow down even a little bit. To be apart of this world, we all have to find ways to adjust by becoming a bit fast paced ourselves. Fast food, faster cars, fast fast FAST! We have become a society of short attention spans and impatience. We can multi-task while multi-tasking.

It’s not hard to assume that in this blazing fast world of going from one thing to the next, we need things that are “on the go”. That is why disposable plastic water bottles are still popular today, even with all the environmental risks that we are all well aware of. It’s hard for us to change something that we are all so use too. Instead we go around the problem by promoting recycling. We may not stop using plastic water bottles, but at least we recycle! Well it’s a start at least.

Along with all of these things, it has become more common place for people to refill their water bottles or soda bottles in an effort to reuse these items to help out with this environmental problem. The issue is that most of these types of plastic water bottles and soda bottles are not meant to be reused over and over. A plastic known as polyethylene terephthalate (or PET) is a major composition of a plastic water bottle and was never meant for reuse. One of the reasons for this is bacteria. When you use a water bottle the germs from your mouth transfer into the water bottle, typically known as backwash (yuck!). This like any unclean item can reproduce and cause illness in those with weak immune systems.

Now you may be saying, “I wash my water bottle every day with hot water and soap!” That is great, but that is where the second problem comes from. You may have been hearing a phrase being tossed around lately, “bpa free”. BPA is bisphenol-A and is a synthetic material in many plastics. When you use hot water on a plastic bottle, this causes BPA to be released into the bottle from within the plastic. It has not yet been proven that long term effects come from the exposure to BPA but there are ongoing case studios showing that this is a possibility.

So what is the solution? When it comes to these kinds of water bottles, the only thing to do is recycle it. The real solution comes in buying a certified reusable water bottle made for this sort of thing. There are many out on the market that come in all shapes sizes and functions. They are purposely made to be reused on a daily basis. Just look for things like “BPA free” and mention of bacteria resistance of some sort and you should be alright. Don’t reuse those cheap plastic water bottles you buy from the gas station, they will only do you harm in the long run. Spend a few bucks and get a reusable drinking water container and you will do yourself a great service.

The Best Choices in Eco-friendly Water Bottles and Jugs

One of the main concerns of any person is the quality of the water that enters his or her body. This is probably the most justified concern anyone can have, because without water we would die. At the same time, water is the main carrier for many bacteria and viruses that can lead to diseases, because of the high degree of pollution that takes place around the world.

In this direction there have been many developments that purify the water we drink. Filters are the best known product of this sort that is available on the market today. They can be found in most homes today, to cleanse the water there, but what if you were to go out on a trip or store some water or other beverages for various other purposes?

The most popular storage object used today is the bottle. Bottles are used to store every liquid, be it water, juice, alcohol or who knows what else. Since the surrounding environment has become a great problem for us, some manufacturers have developed eco-friendly water bottles.

Aquasana is a leader on the water filtration market. This company has won numerous awards for their activities in this direction and it is now rated number one in America. Apart from their filtration options, this company is now offering a choice for eco-friendly water bottles, a new development that will surely keep your water stored in the refrigerator without the worry of unwanted microorganisms.

Switzerland is well known for the high quality of the products they deliver. SIGG, a Swiss company, has combined their craftsmanship and quality with contemporary and innovative style to bring us a wide selection of eco-friendly water bottles.

Klean Kanteen is a company that has made an impression on the market of eco-friendly water bottles, targeting more active users. There is a wide selection of these types of bottles that can be used by bikers or hikers alike, manufactured from stainless steel with a surface that keeps the unwanted microorganisms out.

Other storage options for home use are the eco-friendly water jugs. While bottles are good for transportation of the liquids inside them, jugs are designed to be kept in a refrigerator, with little worry of spilling or of any unwanted presence.

A renowned company that produces eco-friendly water jugs is Frigoverre. This company produces lots of sturdy designs that flirt with the new and innovative styles of today. You are bound to find the model that suits you best in their collection, no matter how pretentious you are.

Even though you might think that a bottle can store liquids better than a jug, do not be fooled. Eco-friendly water jugs from Frigoverre will keep any odor or bacteria out due to the tight fitting lids. And if you are worried about the washing process, they are dish-washer safe.

If you do not know where to find eco-friendly water jugs from Frigoverre, the best place to start would be the Internet. Instead of starting an endless search that can provide great prices on their products, you should take the time to visit the website www.thewaterkey.com.

No matter if you are interested in the eco friendly water bottles offered by the companies Aquasana, SIGG or Klean Kanteen, or if you are searching for great prices on the Frigoverre eco friendly water jugs, the website mentioned afore is the best choice you can make.

360 Paper Water Bottles

Have you ever felt a nagging of your conscience when you had a sip of water from your plastic water bottle or when you had a chance to see the dustbins at a scenic spot flooded with these? If your answer is yes! Read on and be delighted.

The environment that we share has been affected and we are the major culprits. In answer to the plastic water bottles, the paper water bottle emerges as an eco – product made of recycled material. They aim at decreasing the usage of these plastic bottles and an increased usage of these will lead to a cleaner environment. Americans throw 60 million plastic bottles on an average per day. Statistics claim only that 14% of them are recycled. So, the rest of it ends on the earth as litter. According to National Association for Pet Container Resources (NAPCOR), 2.7 million tons of plastic PET bottles hit the shelves in the U.S and four fifth of it went into landfills. In the name of cleanliness and purity, we have managed to increase the garbage.

A clear examination of the above implies that the organization ‘Brand Image’ has taken into account the issues of the environment and the bottling companies. Their solution is the ‘360 paper water bottle’ which is a sustainable, innovative and eco-friendly solution.

They have utilized sheet stocks made from bamboo, palm leaves and other plants. When these sheets are pressed into two halves, a highly degradable micro thin poly-lactic acid (PLA) film forms and this creates as a barrier and prevents spillage. The bottle comes with a plug to seal the bottle. When this is removed, the torn paper is tethered to act as a cap. They are die stamped together and therefore eliminating the usage of a six-pack carrier. Natural dyes add color to these bottles and also allow company graphics to be embossed upon. The paper board tag is a further space for marketing the brand. The eco-boards act as pallets and shipping containers.

The advantages of these products are:

Safe and user-friendly

Resealable cap for protecting the contents

6 packs made of recycled material

Ecoboard shipping containers

Natural dyes for a warm and colorful appeal

Companies that bottle water, fruit drinks, soft drinks and even beer will need to act upon. Their decisions and further actions will help eliminate a huge amount of plastic material from our planet. We need a win-win not just for the companies and the consumers but also Earth, our planet. The organizations must become responsible and accountable.

Brand Image is an international design agency aiming at revamping the innovation process through a responsibly designed product. Their product is fortified as a brand at all levels like strategy, usage and differentiation. They aim at delighting the manufacturer and the consumer in a responsible manner. They have challenged the usual norms in producing a plastic water bottle at all levels and have come up with a 360 degree solution, an extremely radical one at that.

Spring Water Bottled is not What You Think it is

Spring water bottled by virtually every company in the bottled water industry labels their product with information that is misleading at best. The industry has tripled over the last decade and the growth curve is as a result of an aggressive campaign by the industry to convince consumers that city or public tap water is downright dangerous when, in fact, public water supplies are safer. Believe it or not there are several companies, companies that are very recognizable, that have been severely penalized by the FDA for with extracting water right out of the river (one from the Potomac River near Washington D.C.) or right from the tap on city water lines. Don’t misunderstand the intent of this article as “railing” on the bottled water industry. This industry has saved many lives around the world in disaster and war torn areas. The point here is to provide the truth and eliminate the scare tactics that causes you to spend money unnecessarily.

Spring water is water that is derived from an underground formation from which water flows naturally to the surface of the earth. Spring water must be collected only at the spring or through a borehole tapping the underground formation feeding the spring. Spring water collected with the use of an external force must be from the same underground stratum as the spring and must have all the physical properties before treatment, and be of the same composition and quality as the water that flows naturally to the surface of the earth.

Just the fact that a spring water bottling water company has extracted that water from a spring it doesn’t mean that chemicals weren’t added. The possibility exists that spring water can pick up contaminants whole being transported in large over-the-road tanks. It can still be contaminated by acid rain, industrial pollution, or parasites. A label on a bottle that says “spring water” doesn’t necessarily mean that it is natural, safe, healthy, and pure. One of the aspects of FDA regulations that govern the standards of the bottled water industry is that they don’t regulate the companies that package and sell bottled water in the same state (which is 60-70% of all water sold in the U.S.). This means that one in five states doesn’t regulate this water. Observe some of the labels below of several companies that caused the FDA to take regulatory action in 1995 that drive home this point;

“Spring Water” (with a picture of a lake surrounded by mountains on the label) — Was actually from an industrial parking lot next to a hazardous waste site.

Alasika™ — “Alaska Premium Glacier Drinking Water: Pure Glacier Water From the Last Unpolluted Frontier, Bacteria Free” — Apparently came from a public water supply. This label has since been changed after FDA intervention.

Vals Water — “Known to Generations in France for its Purity and Agreeable Contribution to Health . . . Reputed to Help Restore Energy, Vitality, and Combat Fatigue” — The International Bottled Water Association voluntary code prohibits health claims, but some bottlers still make such claims.

If one can’t be sure then if bottled water is safe, what is the alternative? How about tap water? This question alone makes most people freeze at the notion so let me enlighten you with the facts. The following conditions for bottled water are not required by the FDA; disinfection, confirmation of the absence of E. Coli and Fecal Coliform, filter removal of pathogens, and testing for Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and viruses. These are all required by the EPA for tap water but not for bottled water. Surprising wouldn’t you say? Another consideration; the testing frequency for bacteria in tap water is hundreds of times per month where bottled water is once per week. Testing for synthetic organic chemicals for tap water is once per quarter whereas bottled water is once per year. What’s even worse is that carbonated and seltzer waters follow none of the aforementioned guidelines or standards. So the next time you purchase bottled spring water thinking it is the answer to the tap water, do remember that the FDA standards that govern the bottled water industry aren’t as strict as EPA standards for tap water.

Marketing is very powerful tool to sell products. Now that we know that bottled water is not necessarily purified water my suggestion is to acquire the city water testing standards and results to be safe but purchase a carbon block filter/uv light purification water treatment system for your home drinking water.

Water Bottles: is your Bottle Safe for Drinking?

On the bottom of my water bottle there is a number inside a triangle, what does it mean?

The number inside of the triangle is a plastic identification number representing what chemical was used to make the plastic. For example if you see a 1 that represents PETE (Polyethylene Terephthalate) or a 7 represents Polycarbonate (which contains Bisphenol A), which are the two most commonly used chemicals in water bottles. This articles intent is to give a basic overview for #1 and #7 chemicals and is not inclusive by any means. I urge the reader to research each of these chemicals further.

Can I reuse my plastic water bottle?

Water bottles with the #1 (PETE) are for single use only! PETE leaches out into the solution within the second use. The more you reuse bottles made out of PETE the more of the chemical you are ingesting (Aquafina and Dasani are made out of PETE). Number 7 is rather stable in the beginning but with washing and continued use the pores of the plastic begin leaching polycarbonate and the more you wash and refill the more you are ingesting. I recommend not using bottles made with #7 (Nalgene is made with polycarbonate).

What is the health problem associated with chronic exposure to these chemicals?

PETE is thought to possibly be a carcinogen; there have been reported studies to support this claim. I am not yet sold on the exact condition it causes but drinking small amounts of chemicals cannot be good for anyone. Polycarbonate on the other hand is showing health concerns in a variety of ways. Bisphenol A (contained in Polycarbonate) was 1st introduced to the market in the 1930’s as an estrogen for pharmacological use. It is now used in our plastics and has been shown to disrupt the endocrine system, fetus development, cause reproductive abnormalities and has been shown to enhance the growth of human breast cancer cells. These are dis-ease states that everyone should be trying to prevent from occurring.

Are there any bottles that are safe?

Bottles made by SIGG are coated on the inside with resin that have been proven to be resistant to breakdown and do not leach harmful chemicals. These bottles are looked upon as the gold standard when it comes to reusable containers.

Where can I purchase a bottle made by SIGG?

The Di Novi Wellness Clinic is proud to offer SIGG bottles. See the “Wellness Products” portion of our website for further details

What is the Chiropractic connection?

Proper hydration is a part of the detoxifying, cooling and transportation process for every cell in the body. If the water you are consuming is contaminated with chemicals these process will be hindered and dysfunction will follow. Dysfunction in the body comes in the form of headaches, back pain, constipation or if in large enough amounts, even cancer.

Get Your Brand Message across Your Prospective Customers with Promotional Water Bottles

What role does a promotional water bottle play? To understand this, you have to analyse their practicality as a gift item. How many people carry water bottles regularly? When does a water bottle find the best use amongst the customers? Does any promotional product store offer water bottles of the desired quality suitable for brand promotion activities? The first part is easy to answer. Almost all people in Australia carry water bottle or drink bottle when they go out. It’s the best way to keep your trip cool and refreshing. And, they are also used almost all part of the year, though they find the best use in the summer.

Considering their popularity amongst all types of travellers, you can choose the branded water bottles as your promotional product. They will function as both a brand display article and a corporate gift for your best customers. Promotional water bottles are available in different sizes, shapes and colours. Some of them have crazy designs and they gain a lot of fans for them, and in turn, for your brand. Look at some of the collections available in the popular promotional gift stores in the country. You may take the help of a Google search to get a good idea about various stores available in the country.

Another important aspect of promotional water bottles is that they do not have any restriction on the printable area provided on them. There are certain corporate gifts, especially items, such as clothing, bags, and many more that restrict the brand imprint on them due to aesthetical reasons. However, other promotional gift items such as a promotional mug or promotional drink bottle does not do so because they do not display the individuality of a person through their design. However, the quality of the water bottles is of foremost concern. All of your customers may not like the poor quality bottles made of cheaper and unhealthy materials. In order to satisfy all categories of customers, you have to choose the best quality item that fits within your budget limits.

There are many stores in Australia that sell the best quality branded promotional products, including branded water bottles. They offer their service at the best rate for their permanent clients. You have to look around in your area and trace the most competitive store that offers you the most competitive service at the best service. Be careful not to get duped by the too-good-to-be-true offers.
